Ravikondda's contribution to Saurashtra language - Part-2

World Mother Language Day was celebrated by Bharath Bharathi in Chennai. I represented our Saurashtra language and spoke about the antiquity of our language.

During Vedic times several thousands of year ago Sanskrit was the official language but Prakrita was the spoken language of the common man. Our language Saurashtra spoken now by over 24,00,000 (24 Lakhs) people mostly in South India is a shoot off of Sauraseni Prakrita a branch of Prakrita.

Petition to Director of Central Institute of Indian Languages, Government of India, requesting to recommend, addition of Saurashtra language to 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India. Shortly petitions will be submitted to Central Ministers In Delhi.
On behalf Sourashtra Madhya Sabha, Language Committee Chairman Sri.Ravikondda and On behalf of KUSO Sri.K.V.Pathy former President of KUSO  presented separate petitions. Sri.T.S.Jayabal, Gen Sec KUSO & Chairman of Skills committee-SMS,                             Dr. LR.Premkumar and Sri.K.C..Manikantan of CIIL were present. 25-9-2019.
